- Disability Services Clinician
Description
QCS is seeking a dedicated Disability Services Clinician to contribute to meaningful change for people with disabilities in custody. As part of our specialist Disability Services Team, you will conduct and coordinate evidence-based assessments, triage referrals, and deliver person-centred support for individuals with cognitive disability, neurodiversity, acquired brain injury and other impairments affecting daily functioning. You will assist prisoners to access the NDIS and obtain key supports when they return to the community.
Working alongside multidisciplinary colleagues and frontline staff, you will build strong relationships across correctional centres and with key external partners including the NDIA. Your work will directly shape the pathways available to prisoners with disability, from assessment and behavioural support through to reintegration and community support.
BUILD A MEANINGFUL CAREER WITH US
As a Disability Services Clinician, you will play a valued role within a dedicated team committed to identifying and supporting prisoners with disability across Queensland's correctional system. This is a role where your clinical judgement and skills have a real impact, with each assessment, referral and engagement helping to improve outcomes for people with disability in our correctional system.
You may attend correctional centres across the region to engage with prisoners, frontline staff and stakeholders, developing a thorough understanding of disability referral processes and triaging based on referral criteria and individual need. The Disability Services Team provides a statewide function, meaning you may be required to travel to regional correctional centres to provide support and attend training opportunities.
